Interactive Features of this Site

Pediatrics in Practice is a self-directed Web site that includes several interactive tools to enhance your learning: including a series of educational modules, journal, briefcase, and a listserv. More information about each can be found below.

Educational Modules: E-learning modules are available throughout the site to teach and enhance specific skills and understanding of health promotion concepts. The modules rely on several interactive features including self assessments, progress checks, journaling and action plans. These features are designed to create a customized learning experience that can be completed at your own pace.

Journal icon My Journal: Each educational module includes a Journal to use for self-assessment, reflective learning, and planning a course of action. Reflection through journaling will allow you to monitor your learning and practice, and change it according to what you hope to achieve.

Briefcase icon My Briefcase: The Briefcase is intended to be used as a place where you can collect useful information and have it easy to find. For example, you can copy information from one of the educational modules or an interesting website and paste it into the Briefcase where you can easily retrieve it later. You can also save Journal entries into your Briefcase.

Listserv: Pediatrics in Practice fosters community learning and information exchange around health promotion and other Bright Futures topics. By joining the listserv, you will have an opportunity to network with other practitioners and learners of health promotion and children's health. Learning does not have to occur in isolation but can be an experience with a community of learners in various disciplines and skill levels.
